Sketch-a-day 13

I'm out of my studio for a few days, so crappy phone pics are gonna have to do. Here's a Brownie, for some reason.

Sketch-a-day 12

And here's a head study. Just a lonely little head study. Ink and white gouache

Sketch-a-day 11

This was based on someone standing outside Vivace (best coffee in Seattle, in my over-caffeinated opinion), on Capitol hill. It's a great spot to people watch.

Sketch-a-day-10

Well I've been drawing, but haven't had a chance to scan anything, so I'll have to throw up a few at once. Here's another character study. She looks like she could nag you TO DEATH.

Sketch-a-day 9

This will soon be a painting, but for now, just a sketch.

I'm trying to develop a painting style I could conceivably use in comics, without it taking a year per page. Something fast and simplified, yet effective. I should have it figured out by the time I reach 60.

Sketch-a-day 8

Why are lizard-men always so damn grumpy? Chafing, perhaps?

Sketch-a-day 7

Man, I got nothin today. How about a half-assed steam-punk batman? We cool? Cool.

On another note, I gotta start inking these suckers. Pencils just look so bland.

Sketch-A-Day 6

Here's one of the characters from an upcoming project. Inked with a mix of burnt umber acrylic ink and regular ol' black india. Next I'm going to ruin the whole damn thing with some heavy-handed overpainting.

Sketch-a-day 5

Is that goblin still here? That guy's an asshole. Maybe this evil wizard will scare 'im off.

Sketch-A-Day 4

A place-holder-goblin, here to hold down the fort until I can get something better whipped off for the daily sketch.

Sketch-A-Day 3

I'm fascinated with abandoned buildings. They always seem so sad and mysterious.

Wow, I haven't posted in FOREVER. Here's a recent commission, this is 5'' by 5'', watercolor and gouache.  And love. A lot of love.

I went to my first Sounders game last night, and I was inspired to draw this. I mean what is this, the dark ages? A game that can end with a 0-0 tie? Movies have taught me that never happens. I mean, even Rocky had a winner declared at the end.
